All about me

 Hey! My name is Melanie Hintz. I am 18 years old and and go to Rockford High School. I am almost through my senior year here and still have not completely decided on where I am going to go to school next year. I have lived in Rockford my entire life and have 3 older siblings, who have all graduated and are in college or past college. I also have German Sheppard named Oakley, he's a little crazy. 

Some of my favorite things are traveling, going to the beach, the color pink- in pretty much anything, ice cream, and pretty much any dessert. I love pasta, one of my favorite restaurants is Olive Garden. I like trying new food especially from different countries. In the summer I love to hang out with my friends and go to the beach all day long. I love watching sunsets and enjoying the warm weather. 

I grew up doing gymnastics all of my life and it just came to an end just over a year ago, due to injury. I still help out on the high school team here and enjoy seeing and hanging with all of my teammates. With my injury I haven't really been able to participate in sports like I have wanted these past few years, but I might be able to join the track and field team this upcoming season, if everything starts to work out. 

Right now I am working at Jody's Restaurant like I have since the beginning of high school. I am ready to find a new job for the summer and find something more enjoyable before I leave for school in the fall. I haven't fully decided where I am going to be attending next year, but I am still looking forward to all of the new things to come with it.

 Crumbl Cookie Review This week we did a food review in class. We decided to try Crumbl Cookie. Crumbl is a unique in the way that each week this company changes the flavors of their cookies so they are never the same. We tested out four of these options, and rated them along the way.  #4: Cake Batter Describe the taste: Uncooked cake batter and vanilla funfetti Sweetness level 1-5: 5/5 Favorite thing about it: The way it looked Least favorite thing about it: The entire cookie, especially the frosting. Interviewing the one and only Mr. Huizing

  Mr. Huizing’s Interview Today I decided to interview Mr. Huizing. Though, I have yet to have an actual class with him, he is very present throughout my week in Mrs. Hodge’s Books and Blogs class. He is a very energetic history teacher here at Rockford High school, and is constantly all over the place. I decided to interview him to learn about his life and experiences as a teacher of 17 years here.  Questions and Answers What made you decide to become a teacher Answer: “First off, my mother was a teacher for 36 years here. Some of my fondest experiences in school were in high school with my classmates and with my teachers. Bro’s Doughs Review

  Bro’s Doughs Review This week we had a food review in class. We tried and reviewed Bro’s Doughs. Each group tried at least 4 different donuts and took notes on them all. Bro’s Doughs has a very unique take on their donuts, with their crazy different flavors it makes them stand out compared to any other donut shop.  #4: Dirt Pie Describe the taste: Plain donut  Sweetness level 1-5: 2  Favorite thing about it: The gummy worm Least favorite thing about it: How bland the donut was If you like plain donuts, I would recommend this donut.
